Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy applies deeper pressure that is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus of a Deep Tissue Massage is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding the muscles, bones, and joints).

Specific strokes in a Deep Tissue Massage are used to manipulate tissues while movement techniques are used to release muscular congestion. Deep Tissue Massage helps to loosen muscle tissues, release toxins, and get blood and oxygen circulating. Deep Tissue Massage is both corrective and therapeutic.

Deep Tissue Massage is beneficial for sports injuries and chronic pain.

Trigger Point Massage Therapy

Trigger Point Massage Therapy is a technique that involves the application of the pressure applied to the Trigger Point of the tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body.

It may also be called Myofascial (Myo meaning muscle, Fascial meaning connective tissue) Trigger Point Therapy. Trigger Point Massage is particularly good in releasing very tight muscles and putting them back to a semi relaxed state until they have calmed down from being so tight.

Trigger Point Massage can also be combined with Deep Tissue Massage and MRT (Movement Release Technique) for even better results of exceptionally sore muscles. This Technique is applied in Sports Massage.

Advanced MRT

Advanced MRT (Movement Release Technique) is combining movement of the limb while applying pressure deep into the active muscle to encourage the muscle to release from its tight state.

MRT is combined with Deep Tissue and Trigger Point massages. All three together are applied when having a Sports Massage.

Swedish Massage

Making massage part of your regular routine is so good for the body’s well-being.

A Pregnancy Massage is different from any other type of treatment as there are different trigger points and a level of sensitivity and gentleness that is required by the Therapist.

This massage is carried out in a side-lying position to maximise the effectiveness of, and assists to gain the full benefits of the massage. Side-lying is a more natural position and keeps the hips and pelvis level and the lower back fully supported. Pillows are used in supporting the body. This can help to alleviate the extra strain on the lower back and pelvic areas when the pressure of a massage technique is applied.

Pregnancy Massage is a useful way of reducing general pregnancy discomfort as it helps with muscle tension, backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and swelling. Massaging can also assist with reducing stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation and helps to relax nervous tension, which can aid in better night’s sleep.
